Somehow Still Dark

S.O.S.

Save our ship, save our souls,
We are lost in waters cold.
Let us go, let us free,
We are trapped in dungeons deep.
Bring the peace to the poor,
So hungry, wrapped in war.
Let the aching hearts now sleep,
Bless the souls the Lord now keeps.
Keep the crying children warm,
Now calm the raging storm.
We are torn and we are tired,
Grant us please the faith required.
Lost and crying, broken, chained,
We must play this twisted game.
Save our ship, save our souls,
Save us from this endless cold.

After Rain

After the rain
The world is so song-filled,
As birds call
To say they’re alright.
After the rain
The world is still grey,
And drenched with a
Water-washed light.
After the rain
The colors are vivid,
Green leaves bright
Against black tree bark.
After the rain
The sky is so pretty,
Bright white, yet
Somehow still dark.

Will You Still?

Will you still love me
When I’m nothing but a broken soul?
Will you still know what to say
On the days when there are simply no words?
Will you still laugh like the old days
When there was still a glimmer of hope?
Will you still know what to do
On the day when all else fails?
Will you still love me
When I’m nothing but a broken heart?
Will you still know how to make me smile
On the saddest of days?
Will you still have your same boyish grin
When the rainclouds come?
Will you still hold your head up so high
When the storm beats us down?
Will you still love me
When I’m nothing but a broken dream?
Will you still talk in your old easy way
When the strangers arrive?
Will you still be courageous as ever
In the face of great danger?
Will you still be the boy that I know
When the clouds clear away?

Let’s Quit

Let’s quit society, you and I,
This world’s become too violent.
We’ll slip away, unnoticed,
We’ll tiptoe, we’ll be quiet.

Let’s quit this chaos, you and I,
This world so harsh, so cold.
We have little choice in this matter
If we want to live to grow old.

Let’s quit this world, you and I,
We’ll leave and not return.
We won’t look back, I promise,
We won’t see the cities burn.

Let’s quit this cruelty, you and I,
And live in our imaginations.
Quietly, just us small ones
Will flee to a safe destination.

Let’s quit this lie, you and I,
We both know we won’t last long.
We’ll run away, just disappear,
To escape this world so wrong.

Let’s quit society, you and I,
This world’s become too violent.
We’ll slip away, unnoticed,
We’ll tiptoe, we’ll be silent.
